The Basics

Admission tickets to King’s College include self-guided access to the Chapel—home to the world’s largest fan vaulted ceiling—and the expansive grounds, but all other buildings are off-limits to the general public.

To gain a deeper understanding of King’s College history, visit as part of a student- or graduate-led tour, or opt for an excursion which includes stops at other Cambridge colleges such as Pembroke. Meanwhile, time-pressed travelers can combine Cambridge city tours with visits to King’s College or explore both Oxford University and Cambridge University in one day.

We had a tour guide Claire who was absolutely amazing. The whole tour from start to finish was interesting. The walk around was beautiful. I would recommend everyone visiting Cambridge to book this tour. I feel it’s important to have a tour guide from a student- past or present. Jo and Paul

Our guide (Claire) was very knowledgable about Cambridge Uni and told us a lot of unknown interesting facts about the place. We were shown around Trinity and Kings Colleges and other lovely places close by. As someone who had never been to Cambridge before, this tour made my visit far more enjoyable.

Francesco, our guide, was engaging and interesting. He really brought the tour to life. Although we didn’t have children with us, we noticed he was excellent at involving and keeping the interest of the children in our tour group.

We were very fortunate to have Becky as our tour guide. She is a graduate of Cambridge University and is currently studying there for a post-graduate qualification. She had excellent knowledge of the numerous Colleges that are part of the university and gave us an informative and entertaining 90 minute walking tour. Highly recommended.

Our tour guide spoke clearly and the volume of his speech was such that even my friend, who wears hearing aids, was able to hear everything that he said. The tour was very interesting, and would only have been improved if we could have gone into a college or two.
