There’s no better way to experience a breathtaking Lake Argyle sunset than out on the water! On our popular sunset magic cruise, we’ll explore the rugged northern end of Lake Argyle while navigating through some of the lake’s 90 islands and inlets. Our Skipper will entertain and inform with commentary on the natural history and development of Lake Argyle, The Ord River Irrigation System and the Aquaculture Industry. You’ll encounter Rock Wallabies, Crocodiles, Wallaroos (Euros) and the diverse array of birdlife that call Lake Argyle home. You’ll be delighted and awed by the Archer Fish that shoot water up at your hand with amazing precision and watch a Catfish feeding frenzy. As the sun sinks behind the Carr Boyd Ranges, you’ll enjoy a complimentary drink and light snack to make the most of this magic time of day. With rugged red cliffs reflecting into the blue water, Lake Argyle is the ultimate place to catch the last golden rays of the Kimberley sun.

Good things come to those who bait. If you’re angling to catch a fish during your time at Lake Argyle, join us for a fishing expedition! We guarantee that you’ll catch a fish of some sort and, if not, we’ll give you a 50% refund. Lake Argyle abounds with a huge variety and number of fish. The largest is the massive “Silver Cobbler” which can weigh up to 40kg. We target these huge beasts as well as the feisty “Sooty Grunter” and anything else which might come along. Barramundi are increasing in numbers, but are still few and far between.

Do you go cuckoo for birds? Then you’ll love our half day bird-watching expedition of Lake Argyle, a designated RAMSAR Wetland due to the large number and variety of birdlife found here. Over 240 species of birds have been recorded on or around the lake including Yellow Chat, Purple Crowned Fairy Wren and the Long Toed Stint. At times, individual flocks of certain species can number in the tens of thousands. Lake Argyle has also gained a reputation as one of the best locations in Australia to observe certain species that are often difficult to find elsewhere. A number of well-known birdwatchers regularly bring their clients to us, knowing that our experience and ability to find sought-after species is second to none. On previous trips, guests have been pleasantly surprised at sighting up to 113 bird species in one day! Lake Argyle Cruises’ owner, Greg, is a keen birdwatcher and he especially enjoys leading these trips.
