Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89109

The Basics

Stroll the Strip on a walking tour for an up-close sensory overload, zip through on a Segway, or catch a ride with an Elvis impersonator to see the action from a Pink Cadillac. Come nightfall, explore the Vegas Strip on nightclub and food tours or bar crawls.

But what happens in Vegas doesn’t have to stay in Vegas—some private hop-on hop-off limo tours come with personal photographers to document your big night out. Scenic nighttime helicopter rides are also extremely popular, allowing you to view the Strip in all its colorful, illuminated glory.

Amazing experience
I've never been in a helicopter, it was an amazing experience to see the city at night so lit up. I would recommend this to all my friends to try it as least once.

Grand Canyon Deluxe Helicopter Tour from Las Vegas
The experience was great, our pilot Travis was friendly and made the trip. The ‘light snacks’ are very light a few peanuts/ pretzels which was disappointing especially when I’ve done the trip pre covid and you got more.

the bus drivers and the pilot. Very kind. the bust drivers made the drive comfortable, joking with us and making conversation. The pilot assured our safety and made us feel comfortable and very very safe.

Big Bus Las Vegas Open Top Night Tour
The guides were informative and entertaining. Though you can't get on and off with the exception of the Hollywood sign at night. It's still pretty cool way to get the lay of the land

Grand Canyon Sunset Helicopter Tour from Las Vegas
Tour was beautiful! The guide had everyone switch off in the front of the helicopter to ensure fairness. The snacks were soda, water, champagne, peanuts, and pretzels. Had about 45 minutes in the canyon which was perfect. Loved it. Flew over the canyon and lake mead, quickly saw the Hoover dam, landed in the canyon, flew over some land, and then flew over the strip at dusk.

Grand Canyon Sunset Helicopter Tour from Las Vegas
Not inexpensive but very much worth the money. It is a very unique opportunity to see the canyon from above and inside if you don't have a lot of time.

Wonderful limousine ride from the hotel down the strip. Beautiful evening. Clean and pleasant check in area. Polite assistance boarding. A view of downtown and the Strip from the air, flying over and looping over other parts of Vegas. Elegant experience.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Most official Las Vegas nightclubs do not allow baggy jeans, sports hats, tennis shoes, or shorts.

  • Be aware that costumed characters on the strips expect payment if you’d like to snap a photo with them.

  • The Las Vegas Strip is entirely wheelchair and stroller accessible, as are most of its attractions and hotels.

How to Get There

The Las Vegas Strip runs along Las Vegas Boulevard South, bounded by McCarran Airport to the south and downtown and Fremont Street to the north. Taxis are plentiful but you can also walk to and from many of the Strip’s destinations along the roadway—there are pedestrian walking bridges over the busiest intersections.

When to Get There

Head to the Strip between Sunday and Thursday when big conventions aren’t in town; you’ll have better room selection and rates are often lower. The weather is scorching in Las Vegas in summer and chiller than you’d expect in winter; July, August, and mid-December are considered off-season. Expect long wait times for taxis and dinner tables between 6 and 8pm each night. Vehicle traffic on the Strip is almost always busy, but especially so on weekends and holidays.

The Vegas Strip for First-Timers

If it's your first time in Vegas, be sure to see the Mirage volcano explosion, lounge poolside with a tropical beverage, and try your hand at slots or table games. If you’ve never gambled, lessons offering insights on popular games’ rules, strategy, jargon, and etiquette are available in most of the casinos, and are a good starting point for first-timers. Ask for a schedule at your preferred casino’s customer service desk.
