Stonehenge

Junction of A303 and A344/360, England

The Basics

Entrance to Stonehenge is via timed ticket. You’ll be able to view the stones from a few meters away, and shuttle transportation between the observation areas is included with entry. Access to the stones is limited to 30 minutes, but you can spend as long as you like exploring the site’s visitor center. If you want to visit the Inner Circle and walk among the stones, you’ll need to book a special tour outside of public opening hours. Day tours from London are often combined with nearby attractions such as Oxford, Windsor Castle, Bath, Stratford-Upon-Avon, or the Cotswolds.

Lovely trip
This trip allows you to spend 1 hour in Stonehenge and more than 3 hours in Bath without bothering with public transportations or bookings. Our guide James was very clear in his explanation and, before visiting the Roman Baths, he took us for a 1 hour walk around Bath

Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath Trip from London
Viewing Stonehenge, the 5000 year old monument on the Salisbury Plains and seeing Windsor Palace in all of its beauty. What an amazing experience! Sadly, we weren’t able to see the Roman Baths because of our late arrival to the site and the COVID restrictions still in place. The day was very informative, Carol has deep knowledge of all locations and the areas we drove by. Andre was a fantastic driver too!

Stonehenge and Bath Day Trip from London
Absolutely loved this tour. Very personable and helpful guides. Gave information about the areas we were traveling through as we traveled to add interest to the trip. Went out of their way to make it a great experience and let us know what to expect. The bus was very comfortable and clean. Bath and Stonehenge were both really amazing and interesting. Could not have asked for a better time.

Great half day trip! Finding the bus location was easy, the ride is about 2 hours each way. There’s a small cafe, gift shop, & museum at Stonehenge which perfectly fills your 2 hours without feeling rushed.

Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Oxford Day Trip from London
I did the Windsor, Stonehenge and bath tour. It's a lot to do all 3 in one day. Just plan on it being a long day. Plenty of time to nap on the bus. Tour operator and driver were extremely pleasant. Everything was organized very well.

Bath and Stonehenge Private & Bespoke Day Trip From London
Richard Chambers of Richard's Tours was great. He picked us up on time and provided us with great conversation for 10 hours. He showed us everything at Bath and Stonehenge, tolerated our 11 yo son. It was a great long day and we learned a lot and I can't imagine a better experience.

Private Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Bath from London
Our tour operator was Douglas. He was very punctual and so patient, courteous and professional. We had 2 kids and 3 adults. He kept us engaged and educated. All of us, including the 8 and 9 year old. Douglas is very knowledgeable about all of the sites we visited. Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath. He even introduced us to some of the staff on the sites. Douglas was overall outstanding and I highly recommend him.

Stonehenge Private Tour - Half-Day Tour from Bath
So glad we selected Daniel for this private Stonehenge tour! He has a highly engaging and often funny communication style, and his own enthusiasm about all that’s been learned about it, really brought it to life for us. We would definitely recommend him to anyone interested In Stonehenge and, for that matter, any tours in and around Bath.

The trip was exactly as advertised. We zipped down to Stonehenge by bus, spent about two hours touring the stones, enjoying a snack, and purchasing a few items at the gift shop, then headed back. It was easy, well-organized, and fun! The tour included an audio guide, which explained all the important points. Our driver was safe and experienced.

Half-Day Small-Group Tour to Stonehenge from Bath
It was an excellent trip. The driver gave us a lot of useful information before, during and after the trip, but did not overload us with too much talk. The time spent at Stonehenge was just right. A memorable and most enjoyable afternoon.

When to Get There

Stonehenge is open all year round, but the most atmospheric time to visit is during the summer or winter solstice, when a huge party celebrates the longest and shortest days of the year, and entrance is free. Although visits are timed, it can get crowded in summer, so arrive early or opt for a sunrise or sunset tour to experience the landmark at its most photogenic.
