The Basics

One of Quebec City’s highlights, Montmorency Falls Park (Parc de la Chute-Montmorency) is often visited on city sightseeing tours and dedicated bike tours. For a close-up view of the waterfall, you can climb the 487-step mountainside staircase or take the fee-based cable car to the top.

Once there, cross a suspended bridge over the crest of the falls to access both sides of the park. In summer, adventurous travelers can go ziplining over Montmorency Falls or try out the park's via ferrata circuits, while winter travelers can take part in snowshoeing and ice climbing.

Tour bus driver made the day great. Jean was entertaining and knowledgeable. I would recommend bringing some food with you if you can. No stops for lunch just snacks.

Half-Day Trip to Montmorency Falls and Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré from Quebec city
Our driver/guide was excellent. The tour overall was very good…it gave us an opportunity to visit the sites outside the city. We would have liked more time at the falls and the copper shop and totally eliminate the chocolate shop, however I would recommend this tour to others.

Bike Tour to Montmorency Falls from Quebec City
The Bike Tour was great! The water falls was awesome. Benoit was a good ride leader, but sometimes he paces too fast, such that the other riders have a hard time catching up . Especially since we had a grandfather with the group. And Echo Sports should have briefed the rider using the e-bike properly, before releasing the bike to the rider. The e-bike rider was having a hard time with his e-bike because he wasn't properly briefed on how to use the e-bike. But overall, everyone had fun!

Quebec city & Montmorency Falls 1 Day Tour
The guide is super attentive and helped me with the tickes. Walked the city with us giving extra info. Everything was great. I completely recommend… The tickets for the attractions are not included and they are a bit expensive and you need cash.

Very good - but could be excellent

Half-Day Trip to Montmorency Falls and Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré from Quebec city
Montmorency Falls were great - needed 30 more minutes there to see them all - one hour was insufficient. Chocolatier time was also too short (10 more minutes would have been enough). The church was amazing - but could have spend 15 minutes less there.

Beautiful views, walk over falls as much of the experience as the gondola ride. Short ride but worth the views

Quebec city & Montmorency Falls 1 Day Tour
Great trip. All four parts, the falls, lunch, cruise and time in Quebec city were well balanced. The bus was comfortable and the passengers were well spaced during this Covid crisis. Wonderful experience for a one day excursion from Montreal.

When to Get There

Montmorency Falls is a year-round attraction. Ziplining is offered from May to October, and if you’re visiting in July or August, you can try out the via ferrata circuits or catch the international fireworks competition that takes place at the park. In winter, the cable car still runs and the falls gain the famous "Sugarloaf," an impressive mound of ice that forms at the foot of the falls and sometimes reaches up to 98 feet (30 meters) tall.
