Route 191

The Basics

The El Portal Rain Forest Center provides a good introduction to the area. There you can pick up a map and set out on well-defined walking trails that will take you past such sights as the La Coca Falls, La Mina Falls, the Yokahu Observation Tower, and the Mount Britton Lookout Tower observation point. Popular ways to explore independently or with a tour guide include a nature walk or a hiking tour on the reserve's many hiking trails (Big Tree trail is a favorite).

“My Group!” Had the most fun!
Harrison, Daniel, Daniel & Augusto were our guides. While everyone else went on every easy and boring route our Team took us on all the fun & challenging ones. This made it more of an adventure! We loved it! They were fun, professional & made this an experience! Thanks!

Great tour for the time and money

Let me show you MY island! (with visit to El Yunque)
This was an AMAZING tour! Our guide was phenomenal and very knowledgeable. She was so friendly and knew so much history. The trip was well planned and since we went during Covid, they seemed to book less people per tour group. The van was comfy and had decent (not the best) AC during our super hot day. I would recommend this tour to anyone. So glad I was able to experience Puerto Rico with you all.

Puerto Rico Guided Adventure in El Yunque National Forest
Amazing experience, the tour guides could not have been nicer and more welcoming. The hike was so fun and scenic. Beautiful views, the cleanest water streams where you have time to swim in and jump off cliffs. If you like hiking and adventure this is definitely the excursion for you. Make sure to bring shoes you don’t mind getting muddy! John, Harry, and Janine were the best !

El Yunque National Forest Tour from San Juan
This was a wonderful experience! My boyfriend and I booked this trip for our first time in Puerto Rico and Jonathan was fantastic he engaged our whole group which was about 15 and he follows mask and safety protocols! He is funny and encouraging for the jobs and even showed us some cool plants, we got drinks and went by the beach! If you’re looking for a overall fantastic experience highly recommend doing this! Can’t wait to go back again!

Vivid Day Tour in El Yunque Rain Forest
Eli was an amazing tour guide. She balanced everyone’s safety with a positive experience. You should heed her warnings about mud. The RE is a natural waterfall slide and high dive.

Vivid Day Tour in El Yunque Rain Forest
I loved our tour & our tour guides. Kendra & rodriguez were amazing and very informative. Kendra had seemed to know the area very well and that made me super comfortable. They took their time with the group & they made sure everyone was ok. The hike can be a little intense and slippery but it was worth it. I definitely recommend this tour.

Let me show you MY island! (with visit to El Yunque)
Booked last minute and had a wonderful experience. The tour guide Gonzo was so knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much about the island and its history. My fav part was getting to swim in the river at the end. Great way to end the tour!

Puerto Rico Guided Adventure in El Yunque National Forest
This was a great adventure in a lovely rain forrest. John was a kind an informative guide who insured the safety of those in his group. The hike was challenging at times , bouldering, and slipping in mud but so much fun. Jumping from cliffs, and rope swings @ age 68 was very rewarding. We met many nice people on the trail. 👍

El Yunque Rainforest Wilderness Adventure
This was the most amazing adventure!! Definitely scary at times but we felt extremely safe and tried everything (rappelling, cliff jumping, water slides) The guides were incredible, very nice, and always caught you before you slipped! We had a little trouble finding transportation but we called them and they found us a ride (round trip) I 100% recommended, best part of our trip to San Juan!!

Private Full-Day Secret Hiking Tour to El Yunque Waterfalls
This tour was amazing! Rafael was our tour guide, and he created such a safe and fun adventure for the five people in my group. Be ready to jump out of your comfort zone on the natural water slides and especially the cliff jumping spots. This tour is a hidden gem that is completely worth the money. I say, without any hesitation, book it now!
