It was good for having such a wonderful experience to see Korean War history and North Korea. But there are not many guide tour compared to other tours. Some un-organized plan can be noticed in this tour. If you want lots of freedom when you travel you choose this tour but wants more stories take the other.

This tour to DMZ was really good and with great English speaking guides. There was a bit of wait time in the start, but that was okay.

The trip was a nice experience. The tour guides were great! The highlight of the tour was the Dora Observatory. However, we only had 20 mins there, which was definitely too short.

Not what we paid for but glad we went

The trip was good and we learnt a lot, but we were very disappointed that we couldn’t go to the actual DMZ. I understand the reason was due to the African Swine Flu, which is obviously no fault of the tour operator. However I saw some information regarding the closure from October this year, on another website, but as this tour was being sold as a DMZ visit we assumed the closure had been lifted. We booked two nights before the trip and the following morning received the email saying that we wouldn’t be going to the actual DMZ. So we know that when we paid for the tour, the company knew we wouldn’t be getting the package we paid for. It’s a bit of a scam but we wanted to go anyway instead of arguing for our money back. I am glad we visited the places we did but I wish the closure had been mentioned when we made the booking. Would still recommend but just be aware.

A very good half day tour overall. Our guide, Julie, spoke excellent English and was very accommodating and knowledgeable. The walk down into the tunnel was good, but be aware that you have to walk back up.

Yura was a wonderful tour guide. She was very knowledgeable, managed our time very well especially with a group of 40+, and provided great direction to maximize the experience and everything there was to offer. Thanks Yura:)

smooth booking and well organized pick up. Guide was very pleasant and her English was OK. The only negative thing I can say about is that i found the whole tour kind of "quick, quick", so you are constantly pressured to move on due to the limited time schedule which makes it sometimes stressy.

Jinny was a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. On the way to the DMZ she filled us in on the history of the Korean War and the sights we would see. The tour may seem rushed if you want to look at every single detail and linger but it’s actually perfect if you just want to experience the highlights of the DMZ. I’m interested in transit so one of my favorite souvenirs was buying a train tickets (for 1,000 Won, or $0.80 USD) from Dorasan station to Pyongyang and getting it stamped. Of course it’s a fake ticket, but cool nonetheless.

Even though the weather was not the best, this trip was really nice. It's my second time booking a half day trip on viator, and this time was also really cool, now I went with my family. Gabby was a perfect tour leader.

    Not Much to See

This is probably the cheapest DMZ tour there is on Viator (Not to be confused with the Joint Security Area). You'll be able to see North Korea, but that is pretty much it. The North Korean flag and the fake village are the "highlight" of the Dora Observatory. The 3rd tunnel (where the DMZ letters are), was extremely boring. You go down a relatively steep slope only to peer through 1 of the 3 barriers and that's all. I was thoroughly dissappointed and regretted going for the tour. The tour company and guide were decent though. English was rather clear. Definitely not worth the time or money unless you just wanna brag that you've seen North Korea. "Korean" style
    Swan_K
    , Jul. 2019
I booked for the tour 2 days ahead through Viator at a very reasonable price. The pick up was arranged very quickly. Our tour guide was "Yura" and since we were the last to be picked up from the group (group of 40 or so), she started overviewing the tour on our way to Imjingak. While all the overview was informative, I wish she waited to explain about the places right before we reach the place instead of explaining everything at the beginning. The rest of the tour was designed as "you spend X time at Y before you come back to the bus". Overall I felt the tour was designed very compact and efficient, thus "Korean" style, while not so entertaining and engaging.

The official starting time was 8 am and included hotel pickup. A few das before the tour they contacted us to tell us that because the street we live in is very narrow, they wish to pick us up at the Seoul Station (10 Mintes walk from our hotel) at 7:05 am. The hostlady of our hotel was very surprised by this because normally pickup is no problem.with all the other companies However we arrived at the agreed exit 10 minutes early and the bus and our guide was already there (thumbs up for punctuality). The next hour we drove around the city and picked people up from other train stations, which someteimes meant quite some waiting because the people weren't at the right place for pickup. Maybe our tour was just unlucky but there semed to be a lot of those. The funny thing was that the final pickup was at 8 am the Koreana Hotel (where their office seemes to be), which is 15 minutes walking from our hotel, so the company as well as we would have saved quite some time if we just would have walked there for pickup at 8 in the first place. Our guide was Jinni. She was very nice but unfortunately her english was very hard to understand. Un the bus tour she gave a 30 minute introduction of which I and even my girlfriend, who is british, hardly learned anything from. On the different stations we only learned little from her. Luckily there were some explanatory signs and wifi at many places, so we informed ourselves. At the Dorasan train station there was another with a guide who spoke excellent english and gave a lot of information, not only about the station, but also about the pictures exhibited inside, so we just sneaked into that group for the time we spent at the station. The time we spent at each stop was between 30 minutes and one hour. Of course we would have loved to stay longer at each place but i think we would have felt like that no matter how much time we had. It was always enough time to take a good look around and take plenty of pictures. We never felt rushed and I had the feeling we sometimes had5-10 minutes longer than other groups. The bus was in good condition and comfortable. Overall it was a very interesting tour, but they should try to improve their pickup process and their guides english.

    Very professional guide, comfortable trip

Although there isn't much to see at DMZ, the tour is worth taking for the history and today's situation you can learn from the guide. Our guide Jinny was very professional, told us a lot of interesting facts, gave us tips, made sure the trip went smooth for the group. We had a bus full of travelers from different countries, picked up people at hotels around Seoul. No shopping stop on the way back, which apparently many other tours include, so this was an added bonus, as we didn't feel like shopping for ginseng products. There are A LOT of tourists doing the DMZ tour every day, an endless stream of people going in and out of the 3rd tunnel (still worth seeing!). Even my kids ages 15 and 8 enjoyed the tour, so I would definitely recommend it.
