Lance is the best storyteller. He shows passion for what he does. Recommend the tour and the location.
Excellent tour of some North Island Highlights

Fantastic tour albeit a long day. Our driver Michael was a fountain of knowledge and drove very safely. The Waitomo caves were amazing and the commentary by very enthusiastic guides made it fascinating. A great day out.

This was a very memorable and AMAZING excursion! All the way from the scenic drive to admiring nature in its purist, most natural form was so incredible. Being able to see glowworms in a cave, learning about the Maori, and seeing active geysers and mud pools, made for such an unforgettable experience!
An enjoyable day

Tour pick up was on time. The minibus was not branded Cheeky Kiwi, it was operated by a contractor so I did not recognise it at first. It was great there were only 2 destinations as it would have been too rushed otherwise.

The glow worms were completely over rated and a waste of time. We also had someone get sick on the car ride and the operator could not accommodate a return trip to Auckland with 7 hours left in the tour. Our tour guide was very nice but his directions came from the manager not to provide us transportation to return.
Great Tour

Lance and Jack were our tour guides. We were the only two on the tour. As a result, Lance showed us what he thought we would like to see. He also asked what we were interest in and planned the tour according to our interests. Waitomo Caves (Glow Worms) were worth seeing. These caves are millions of years old. We also went to a cultural center where we learned about the people and their culture. Trip was very interesting. I highly recommend this tour.
Fantastic natural wonders!

Loved the beauty & natural wonder of both destinations. we had two different drivers...?they switched... the driver from aukland to the worm caves was quiet and didn’t provide much info. After the switch our new driver was talkative and a much better guide/driver to Rotorua and the rest of day. She definitely made it extra special!
Fabulous sights, not-so-fabulous long drive
, Feb 2019
The cultural program at Te Puia is wonderful and the arts and crafts institute a marvelous enterprise. The thermal wonders are also fascinating and we were lucky enough to see the geysers erupting magnificently. Waitomo cave was practically a .spiritual experience I can't begin to describe how beautifully the glowworm lights shine. The downside of the whole trip was the extremely uncomfortable van badly in need of new shocks that made it necessary to hang on for dear life around the many turns and curves of the road. Our guide was certainly not overly concerned about our comfort. Lunch was problematic with no direction as to where or how and water was not offered. It was a long, long trip from Auckland and if you should choose to do it take lunch, water, and a large pillow!
No Sympathy

While our guide was excellent, the experience at Waitomo was awful. My wife fell while in the cave because they turned off the light. The guide did not show any concern about her condition but continued cajoled the others in the group. For folks with limited night vision, this tour is dangerous. There were no guardrails in the unlit portion of the cave tour.
Excellent Tour Guide

This was a day we enjoyed to the max. Our guide was a great host, very knowledgeable, relaxed and friendly. The caves and Rotorua should not be missed, the Maori cultural show was very good. Loved the drive through the beautiful countryside. Loved the early morning stop for breakfast! Don't change a thing, it was perfect. Also, the locations chosen for souvenir shopping were pretty good.
