Overview

During their annual migration, Hawaii plays host to one of the largest populations of North Pacific humpback whales in the world. On this seasonal tour, held only between February and April, set sail along the Kona-Kohala coast and enjoy spectacular views as you cruise around the Big Island. Whale sightings are guaranteed, so if you aren’t lucky enough to spot the majestic creatures, simply come back on another day, free of charge.

Departure Point: Anaehoomalu Bay, Waikoloa Address: 69-1081 Kuualii Place Waikoloa, Hawaii 96738 Directions: Vessels depart from Anaehoomalu Bay at the Waikoloa Beach Resort. If driving, set your GPS to "69-1081 Kuualii Place Waikoloa, Hawaii 96738". This will take you toward the A-Bay beach and the Lava Lava Beach Club. Park at the A-Bay Beach Park parking lot, and walk along the beach toward the middle. Look for our orange Hawaii Nautical check-in banner near the two prominent coconut trees. We will come to get you there in our catamaran tender.

The crew was very nice and helpful. Great views from the boat. The only disappointment was the briefest of whale sitings and the distance which understandably can't be controlled. It was encouraging that they offer 20% off another trip. We will book again. I have no pictures.

My wife and I thought we would see the whales more closely, to be able to take better photos. The only photographs and videos that we were able to take were of part of the body, there on the tour they told us that they could not get close because if they did they would receive a fine. That should be explained when they offer the tour. the staff very amagke and knowledgeable about the whales.

Really enjoyed the morning out on the water. The guides were knowledgeable about whales. We saw dozens of tails and spouts from afar. You never know how close the animals will let you get. We did enjoy a pod of dolphins jumping and swimming alongside our boat!

Both ladies were very knowledgeable. It was really amazing to see the whales so up close. . The boat was comfortable, only issue is no bathroom. We had to drive an hour to get to this excursion, then had to find a bathroom . So we left a few minutes late.
