Fun and Scenic Tour, Not Wheelchair Accesible
Lindsay_N
, Jul 2021
We loved the tour. Very scenic and informational, and Wendy was amazing! Wendy knew an amazing amount of facts and history, and enjoyed sharing her knowledge. We did think the description of the tour on the website was slightly misleading. We did not go to Rainbow Row, and another member of our tour seemed confused about that. I now see the description mentions it. Also, we had a member in our group on a mobility device and someone with a stroller and small child. The website says wheelchair accessible and stroller accessible. Due to the nature of the old cobblestone roads and passageways and the way the sidewalks in Charleston are not paved smooth, I would say that is misleading. It was not easy for either of them to navigate through. The person on the mobility device would not have made it if he depended on it 100%. There was also a lip (small step over) in one of the passageways that probably would have not been passable by an electronic wheelchair. If you have mobility issues, I don’t recommend this tour. If you have a stroller, be prepared for a bumpy ride.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your experience. We are so happy that you loved the tour with Wendy and would recommend it to others! We also appreciate your feedback regarding the accessibility of some of the alleyways for those with mobility issues. It is certainly not our intention to mislead our guests and we are working with Tripadvisor/Viator to clarify this on their site. Thank you again for your valuable feedback. We hope you will join us again soon!

Pleasant Sunday morning walk in Charleston

We really enjoyed learning about the architecture and history of Charleston houses. The gardens, side streets and decorations were brought to life by our guide, Jim. He even loaned us his bug spray when he noticed we needed it while standing in the shade. We could have listened to him talk all day. The time flew by even in the summer heat. I would love to take another tour this fall.

Absolutely fantastic walking tour by Jim. Most of the tour was spent in areas blessedly light in on other tourists, and Jim kept the tour light and fun while still being super informative. His love for Charleston is infectious. Can't recommend this tour enough.
