Not bad, would have liked a little more information

Lunch was great, and the guide on the van was really informative and friendly. The house museum was beautiful but it wasn’t as informative as it could have been - they gave you information if you asked but a little more guidance/offered information would have been better. Not the fault of the venue, but the rain made it difficult to see everything. They had umbrellas available to borrow but the pathways were several inches deep with water which made walking around difficult.

Our favorite Charleston tour!

My husband and I went on several tours through Charleston, and this was our favorite! Middleton Place has beautiful scenery, plentiful plants and wildlife, and lots of history. We were blown away by the grounds and everything that there was to see. We got so many gorgeous landscape pictures. For lunch, the restaurant has beautiful views of the property and the food was delicious! Our driver was friendly and attentive, and gave great recommendations. We only wish we could have had more time there!

Middleton Place was beautiful. The biggest drawback of this tour is that there is not enough time to see everything. There should be an option to skip lunch and/or take a later ride back. The lunch was delicious by the way, couldn’t begin to eat it all!

Needed more time

Needed more time at Middleton Place. House tour and lunch were great, however they took up most of our time allotment, leaving very little time to explore on our own.

Having the freedom to walk around the plantation grounds and seeing the beautiful gardens was fantastic. The views of the landscape were surreal. This was one of our most favorite plantation tours. The lunch was delicious.

Enjoyable day

Great way to spend the day. Middleton Place is beautiful and the historic value is high. Transportation to and from is nice and the driver was engaging and enjoyable. Only downside of the day was the buffet lunch which was mediocre and bland.

This was a wonderful tour, Just enough time to visit the beautiful gardens and grounds and tour the historic home. The lunch exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend the store.

A great experience

The ride to and from the plantation was made enjoyable by Benjamin - the owner of pineapple tours. He filled us in with history and current trends of the city making the ride as informative as the plantation tour. The Plantation grounds were Yeahbeautiful and the people very knowledgeable about the history. Even the restaurant, included in the tour, was wonderful!

Bad, Bad, Bad. Shame on You Viator.

The first big, BAD surprise from a Viator tour. Viator should remove this from their offerings. It is a shame on them and a disgrace. The lunch wolud cost $25 if purchased onsite. At that, it would be outrageously overpriced. It is a buffet, the food cold and dry, sitting out for hours. The tour itself involves being dropped off at the site and picked up. No guide commentary from the driver. This was much needed. The onsite tour of the main house lasted 10 minutes. A fair price for the package would have been $65 per person. Not $120. Do not take this tour.

For those reading this review.... Here is a cost break down: 1)Transportation in a luxury 14 passenger bus. If you were to go by cab or by UBER the cost would be $40.00 EACH way there and back. Middleton place is 27 miles from Charleston and it is extremely difficult to get a ride share service or cab back to the city. 2) Admission to the Gardens $29.00 at the gate 3) 30min guided house museum tour $15.00 per 4) Lunch at Middleton Place restaurant: $25.00 The menu changes with the seasons. The spring buffet is a chef assisted service that features all of the classic lowcountry specialties and is amazing. Most of the year we offer our 3 course meal options. Either way it is a tremendous amount of food and a great value. (don't take our word for it. read our other reviews) Michael, Had you expressed any of these comments or concerns with us while you were with us, or after your tour we could have addressed them and had the opportunity to correct them. Constructive criticism is ALWAYS welcome and appreciated because a a small business we know we can always improve. If you contact the office I will be happy to offer you a FULL refund 877.553.1670 ask for Benjamin. Have a safe trip home.
