There are walking tours and there are bus tours, but this unique Segway tour provides an entirely new perspective on the area around South Carolina’s fastest-growing urban area — Greenville.

Riding on a Segway isn’t difficult, but it’s important to know how to maneuver one. This tour begins in downtown Greenville with a brief but thorough training session to make sure everyone feels comfortable and knowledgeable about their Segway. Additionally, all passengers must weight between 100 and 300 pounds to participate.

With the training out of the way, it’s time to hit the open road.

Glide down the Greenville Health System Swamp Rabbit Trail, a 20-mile-long, multi-use greenway system that runs along the Reedy River, connecting Greenville County with schools, parks and local businesses. The trail follows the bed of a former railroad that had been nicknamed after the indigenous swamp rabbit.

Wind through the streets and discover what makes the city unique, with ongoing commentary about the past and present of this growing region — and a few secrets that even some of the locals don’t know about. Explore everything from the booming business district to the lush parks and greenways — the territory that has made Greenville one of CNN Money’s “Top 10 Fastest Growing Cities in the US.”

This Greenville Segway adventure concludes back at its starting point in downtown Greenville.

Great tour that is customized to the group’s desire. Knowledgeable guide that knows history and the Greenville landmarks. Guide was very safety conscious and made sure everyone was comfortable riding the Segways.

We had the best Segway tour with Walter! Can’t recommend it enough! We saw all of Greenville and even had a little time to ride a bit on our own in a park.
The tour is great but expect a delay in starting it.

We had scheduled the tour for 11:00 but there was only one attendant there to check us in, show us how to use the Segway, give us the tour. We arrived early but 2 more people showed up that booked that morning. He checked them in and we were watching a video when 3 more people came in to rent bicycles. Since Walter was the only one there, he had to check them in and we had to wait. The other couple ended up leaving because they had another appointment scheduled after our tour and they had no more time to wait. We started our tour much later than planned but Walter did a great job teaching us, giving a great tour and riding the Segway was so much fun. Except for the long wait, it was worth it. They really should have more than one person there who has to do everything. It was frustrating.
Great tour

Such a fun way to see Greenville. The river area is so vast and we didn't want to miss anything so decided on the Segway tour instead of walking. Our guide, Walter, was very concerned with our safety and making us feel comfortable on the Segway before we started out on the busy crowded streets. It gave us the confidence to really enjoy the sights. A definate way to go!

Greenville is a delightful little city and well planned downtown areas. This Segway tour is a great way to introduce you to old town with their commitment to the arts and community. John was knowledgable and a very fine guide. He also makes learning to control a Segway easy and approachable. It was clear that our safety and that of others was his highest priority. John was flexible and accommodating to customer's needs and requests. This tour is great fun. I wish you beautiful weather as we had.

the tour itself was good and the guide John, was great. but Viator totally screwed up my reservation so it messed up my whole day and schedule. I was scheduled for a 9am 2 hour tour and we showed up at the office and there was no one there. We called and they were expecting me in Charlotte for a tour there. All my paperwork and confirmation info said Greenville on it but the office was closed. So we got put into the next tour at 1100am, which already had 7 people, so the tour was too full with us added in there. It took a long time to train everyone, and to get thru the busy streets of Greenville. Also it was just and 1.5 hour tour and we had wanted the 2 hour one. They did refund the cost of one of our tickets there were 2 of us but they dropped the ball with this one..... I don't know weather to trust the times and tours they offer online because some of them aren't even available or feasible to do.

The tour was great! John was very knowledgeable about the area as he grew up there. Although we didn't need training on the Segways, I feel confident that he would be great helping newcomers to using them. There were lots of interesting sights and places on the tour and John told us a lot of back-story about lots of stuff. See how many 'Mice on Main' you can see while riding through the streets! A great tour - the previous group were from the city and they said it was great too, so this tour appeals to locals as well as visitors to the city. A superb way to spend an hour and a half!
