Excellent Day

Our guide, Peter, was phenomenal. Even though it rained all day, he provided such interesting stories for us. He took us to many places and was so accommodating in the rain. We had a wonderful day. Highly recommend!
Hobart's top 5

Great overview of 5 of Hobart's must sees. Guide was knowledgeable but you may have to coax more commentary out of him / them.

Our tour operator Tassie Tours was very convenient to use they adapted to our early ship departure which great thanks a lot
Good day out

Had an enjoyable day on this trip our guide was informative and very helpful. I was under the impression that we would get to see both the MONO and Boronong wildlife sanctuary it is not clear that you have to choose one. Saying that we chose Boronong and loved it. It was a bit rushed in Richmond and didn’t get much time to explore here by the time we had got something to eat. Could maybe have done without the visit to the Cheese place and the journey to Mount Wellington was a bit cramped and uncomfortable I the bus. All in all I would recommend this trip despite the couple of adverse factors.
WONDERFUL tour!!!!

What a great way to see the sites of Hobart!!!! This tour was INCREDIBLE!!! We feel like we got to see SO much, even though we were just there for the day!! I was worried that things would feel rushed, but they didn't at all! We had plenty of time at every stop....and even an hour at the market!!! Bonorong was a highlight with our kids, and the little town of Richmond was stunning too!! We were SO glad that we booked this tour!!!
Wonderful view from Mt Wellington

Very happy with our driver. Trip can be improved if more time is given at Mt Wellington. The Wicked Cheese shop can be skipped.
Way too long

Driver was interesting but somewhat disorganised. 6 hour tour lasted 9 hours. A number of wrong turns did not help. Too much time in Richmond.
Hobart disaster
, Nov 2019
What was supposed to be a 6 hour tour lasted 9 hours. We didn’t even get a proper lunch break. We had 15 minutes to get food. We spent way too much time at the goal when there really was nothing to do. We were told if we weren’t at meeting point by 9 we would miss the tour yet we waited 25 minutes on the bus and were told you wouldn’t want to be left behind. Our guide kept getting lost and we drove in the same area 5 times! Guide was very nice but inexperienced. The tour company had neglected to book a private guide for the sanctuary so we ended up being there 1 1/2 hours. Would not recommend this tour company.

Hi Roam, Thanks for your review. I have only ever had to reply to 3 negative reviews out of a couple hundred which were a lot easier than this one. Unfortunately I have to fire a few shots back to defend my staff, company and myself. Your cruise ship arrived to Hobart a little later then expected from New Zealand which meant everyone coming ashore had to go through customs. All tour operators were made aware that there were issues with customs and passengers were going to be delayed - which is completely out of everyones control. You made it off the ship (8:20am) in the first group which was fantastic. I gave you options cafe, walk or wait on the bus. You chose to wait on the bus. (We start at 9:00am) So by 9:00am you had already waited for 40 mins. The fact you come and hunted me down berated me because we were 20 mins after the set departure time saying I should leave behind who ever hadn’t made it through customs i thought was rather inconsiderate to the people stuck in customs especially considering the ship was in over night and you had 2 full days in Hobart. To wait 20 mins to ensure everyone is there happy ready for a good day is a far better approach then taking off regardless of the issues out of everyone’s control. I knew at that point poor Peter was in for a hard day. In regards to your specific issues: Lunch - You had one hour in Richmond that’s where people have the opportunity to find a place and eat their lunch. Gaol - this is an attraction at Richmond. We point it out for those that might be interested in it (an attraction you must have wanted to visit). Bonorong - unfortunately Bonorong had failed to inform us of their changes for the day (staffing issues). For the larger ships (your ship) Bonorong station guides at each animal. Luckily, when we arrived the walking tour was starting 20 mins after - which was great. It meant that instead of 1hour10mins you would have 1h30mins to enjoy the animals and find out all about them. Your guide Peter - we are extremely lucky to have him on our team. He is a fantastic, optimistic, polite, energetic, committed, smart young man who has just started with us and has received a 5/5 review for every tour he had done so far. He is already an asset to Tassie Tours and I am very happy that Peter represents us. You’re right in saying he is inexperienced and is still learning, but everyone is at some point in their lives when starting something new. He had received training and like anyone, has made a few mistakes and he’s learnt from that. I am sorry the day wasn’t enjoyable for you and I hope you managed to enjoy the rest of your trip. For anyone reading this review - if you are at all concerned, please look at our Trip Advisor and you will see we are consistently awesome and I can guarantee you’ll love what we do. Regards Patrick

Simon was a first class guide—extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The driving tour of Hobart was great, as was the journey up Mt. Wellington. Bonorong is a little like a petting zoo and therefore disappointing. Richmond has only a very few things to see. MONA is the best contemporary art museum we’ve seen anywhere in the world. Worth the whole trip to Australia!
Fabulous Day

From start to finish this tour with Josh was wonderful. Josh is a local, and provides lots of commentary on everything from the economy, housing, jobs, history, education, animals, etc. Very entertaining and interesting. You'll have a much better understanding of life in Tasmania. Meanwhile, you get the added bonus of seeing some very nice sights. Bonorong is definitely a highlight, with the opportunity to see wildlife up close and personal. Great way to spend a day when in the Hobart area.
