Overview
Paddle through the dramatic Athabasca Canyon on a half-day whitewater rafting adventure from Jasper that takes on fun, family-friendly Class 2+ rapids. You’ll put in at the base of Athabasca Falls, then paddle a 7.5-mile (12-km) stretch of river with a certified river guide. This 3.5-hour rafting excursion includes all equipment and transport from downtown Jasper, and both morning and afternoon departures are available.

This activity will end right where it started.Our meeting location is in the parking lot across from the Shell Gas Station on Connaught Drive in Downtown Jasper 15 minutes before your trip departure time. Look for the White Rafting Van for check in procedure. All day Parking is available in the public parking lot.
What To Expect
Make your way to a departure point in downtown Jasper, where you’ll board a bus for the 30-minute trip to Athabasca Falls. Wear a swimsuit under your clothes for a quick change to a wetsuit, then join the river guide for a briefing on rafting technique and safety.
Grab a paddle and climb into a six passenger white water raft, then leave the shore with the thundering sounds of Athabasca Falls just behind you. The guide will steer you into the current as you paddle into a channel between the high rock walls of Athabasca Canyon.
You’ll take on a series of fun, exciting Class II rapids, then the river will flatten out for the relaxing final stretch. After roughly 1.5 hours on the water, the guide will steer you back to shore for the return trip to Jasper, where this tour concludes.
Please note: wetsuits, neoprene booties, and paddle jackets will be provided, as you’re sure to get wet while splashing through the rapids. Wear a swimsuit and bring dry clothes and a towel, as well as wool socks and a warm, post-paddle jacket for cooler days.

- Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
- This trip runs in all weather conditions. Participants will be provided with all the necessary technical equipment including wetsuits, spray jackets, neoprene booties and life jackets, however on cooler days, those prone to feeling the cold should bring either a fleece or wool jacket to wear underneath the spray jacket (No cotton should be worn)
- All departure times listed are in Alberta Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST).
- The duration of transfers are approximate, the exact duration will depend on the time of day and traffic conditions
- Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund

The guides( Morgan, Mason and Peter) were so helpful from getting on the wetsuits to navigating the white water and helping at the end. Everyone had a great time! I would recommend this trip to anyone!

Our family really loved this experience. Katelyn was a fabulous guide, really informative and entertaining. Our kids are 13 and 15 and loved the trip. For our first rafting experience this was a great choice. We would choose a more challenging trip for our next experience.

Whole trip was awesome. Guide was great; friendly, professional and very knowledgeable.
The first rougher rapids were fantastic . Everyone in the front got soaked but was super happy. The scenery is beyond beautiful; truly magnificent.

This was a fantastic scenic trip down the Athabasca! A few exciting little rapids, my older kids did wish there were more. All of the staff on our tour were welcoming and friendly. Levi was our raft guide, he was friendly and personable and made an effort to interact with all of us. He also has a very good knowledge of the area. It was the first trip for our kids (ages 16, 13, 13 & 8). Our older kids would've like more rapids, but class III is for 12 and up. All in all, everyone had fun and it was a great introduction to white water rafting for our family. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone, especially with younger kiddos.

Was a fun experience not too intense, will return for a class 3 run hopefully before end of season. Our guide Levi was top notch, experienced and knowledgeable, and a great guy. Cheers, look forward to next time see you in September or beginning of next season.

Great excursion, excellent staff, Very attentive with covid measures, family friendly and safe. We had a great time! As a group of 2, we were paired with another group of 2 but that was it due to Covid. It was nice to not to crammed into the boat. We had very limited time in Jasper and they were flexible with us for a last minute change so we could maximize our excursions while we were there. That was much appreciated. It’s definitely geared towards families. It left us craving a level 3 river!
