Then hop out of your kayaks and take a 45-minute hike to Secret Falls where you can cool off in the clear waters before returning to the Wailua marina the way you came.

Turn off KUHIO hwy into the shopping plaza with the green building which is across the street from the Shell gas station. Look for the STAND UP PADDLE shop and Dukes Kayak Adventures sandwich board next to it. Feel free to park nearby and your guide will meet you and take care of you from there.

This activity will end right where it started.

  • Must wear shoes that are secure to your feet. No flip flops.

  • Ziploc bags should be used for cell phones or cameras that are not waterproof

This was our favorite excursion while visiting Kauai. The kayaking was fun once we got a hang of it and the hike was beautiful. Most of the hike is on a wooden man-made path, making it very easy. The waterfall was perfect. Will definitely do this again.

Family had fun on river and with Brian our tour guide! He was amazing! Loved the tour , the waterfall, etc. Highly recommend shoes that are like hiking sandals… your feet will get wet and tennis shoes are not good option. It’s worth it… kayak skills are a plus but not required. Recommend morning tour as it’s less crowded. Have fun!

We had a great time doing the wailua river kayak/hike to the secret falls with Hawaiian Brian yesterday! The scenery was gorgeous and just the right amount of activity level for us (not too strenuous, but also a decent workout). Brian was knowledgeable, funny, and personable. Along the route he shared information about the history and vegetation and even picked some fruit for us to try along the path. He also wove a hau bracelet that he gifted to us which was very sweet because we are on our honeymoon. We recommend going on the morning tour because it was less crowded and more peaceful at that time of day. Also, Hawaiian Brian only works on Wednesdays. Mahalo for a wonderful experience!
