This 2.5-hour tour departs from Hurricane Hole Marina on Cow Key Channel in Key West.

After some quick boating instruction, head out to Florida’s backcountry waters on a self-captained mini speedboat, following an expert guide over 25 miles through scenic mangroves to the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. This is one of 14 marine-protected areas that make up the National Marine Sanctuary System. The sanctuary protects an impressive 2,900 square nautical miles of water surrounding the Florida Keys.

After docking the boat, assemble the snorkeling gear and listen to a quick safety briefing with some basic instruction from the experts, if desired. Then hop into the warm, tropical water for swimming and snorkeling.

The cruise concludes with a return trip to Cow Key Marina.

Bridgette made it easy and fun. The snorkeling location was secluded and pristine. The ride out was simple and clear We had very limited boating experience and Bridgette gets everyone to level immediately

Awesome afternoon on the water!

This trip provided a terrific combination of being able to drive your own little speed boat (great for social distancing) with snorkeling and exploring a pristine wild life refuge area off the coast of Key West. We are coming back with our kids in a couple of months and will take this tour again. Highly recommend this experience!

Not as advertised, just okay!

Blake was nice. The guy that drove in the golf cart almost threw me off the back with all our stuff. What a snotty attitude. Could not be bothered with casual conversation. No reef on Mud Key and the current was strong that you got about 500 ft around the corner from the grassy sandbar. If you are going to snorkel and see beautiful fish and a reef forget it! The chop was really tough on the back. The guide takes no mercy running too fast across it rather than a speed that doesn’t knock you around. My spouse liked driving the boat. We had fun but it’s not what it is advertised to be.

Sold us a trip that was already filled.

Literally deserves a zero, but that is not an option. We booked the key west excursion and received a call from the tour operator about an hour before we were to show up that Viator sold us two spots that did not exist. So, we planned our day around going on the trip and then found out right before that we couldn’t go. I would suggest booking directly with the provider and not Viator.

Our tour guide, Blake, was awesome! However, I booked this online and it wasn't as advertised... not even a little. For starters, it doesn't leave from hurricane hole marina and we had a REALLY hard time finding it. It was advertised as Swim and snorkel in crystal clear waters with more than 600 species of colorful fish, coral and other sea life. The listing talked a lot about reefs, etc. The mini boats were definitely really cool. We went out back country, which was stunning. But we didn't go to a reef, we went to a sand bar in the middle of nowhere and snorkeled mangrove forest, not reef. It was still really cool in it's own right, and definitely worth the trip, but I couldn't help but leave feeling disappointed. The listing had me pretty psyched up about the worlds third largest barrier reef and all the turtles and parrot fish I'd see. Instead it was barracuda and mangrove snapper. Still a cool trip, but tripadvisor/viator false advertised and mislead me.

We had the first tour of the day and we were the only ones booked . We had Chris as our tour guide and he was awesome! The both were great and we headed straight out to open water and sped around for a little bit . He went into the man groves which were absolutely beautiful and beached the boats on a small beach where we were able to snorkel . Chris pointed out the best places for snorkeling and showed us where there was a shipwreck that we could check out as well . after a bit we headed out to a sandbar where we anchored the boats and walked around and got to see Rays and sea cucumbers. We headed back out to play with the boats for a little bit , visited an area where we got to see some amazing homes including the house from Real world Key West before heading back in . Chris was an awesome guide he made us feel safe and comfortable and we had a blast with him !
