This was a great tour. They tell the history of the plantation and don't sugar coat it when talking about slavery like some of the others do. You get to do a self guided grounds tour and a tour of the inside of the house. It's a wonderful piece of history and a great experience.

We love the plantation the history the knowledge the guides we had Beverly and Jan were great. Their happiness in explaining the items and people of the plantation and suffering they went through was soul stirring all should come and visit this place.

Shortish tour/rich history/great guide & expert/cute cat

Guide was knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed what she does. Many unique things about this plantation and it's history and it was great to get so much in a relatively short tour (great because we had sore feet from walking the day before). Also got to meet Tignon the cat (her name has interesting history).

We had a great time visiting the Destrehan Plantation Tour! It was interesting and we learned a lot! The staff was very helpful! It’s a great tour if you are limited on time and can’t do half a day. We were done in a couple hours. Great price to!

Evelyn, our tour guide was excellent. She shared the local history with us (and she knew soooooo much) and have us a wonderful experience of the Plantation house. Our only regret is that the tour doesn't include the grounds and an explanation of the various slave buildings. That part you do on your own and it doesn't give you the deep understanding that I think it's required.

Beverly was very knowledgeable and enjoyable. She provided great insight to a time when the Plantation was at its peak. Even kept the kiddos engaged throughout the entire tour.

This was a wonderful tour. The tour guide dressed in attire from that time period. It was filled with lots of information about the enslaved and the owners. We went as a family and was very educating. It really gave us a glimpse of the times of the Destrehan family and their enslaved. It wasn’t too long and not too short. I would recommend this tour.
