Time well spent

I had a bayou and plantation tour package, and it was awesome! The tour was well-organized and engrossing - be prepared to soak all of these interesting facts about all kinds of things from swamp wildlife habitat to some obscure facts about slavery in Louisiana in comparison with other Southern states. Our tour guide (and driver as well), Ellen, was super knowledgeable and give us a local's perspective on Mardi Gras, French Quarter, what kind of places are worth visiting, and why... I like it! Also, can't help but mention Kyle, the guide on Laura's plantation tour, and Auguste, the Houmas' house guide. Both were very thorough and detailed, and I was surprised by the depth of the research they had to make in order to prepare their tours. It seems like Kyle knows everything about the family that owned the Laura plantation and he's really digging into it, whereas Auguste amazed me by how he's own family story interwoven with the story of Houmas house and its residents; also, he was extremely funny yet refined, so to say. Did I mention the tasty lunch they provide you with at Houma's house? It has many varieties of NOLA's signature cuisine, and It's a great alternative to the spendier places in the city if you want to try some of the local food. Long story short - this tour was definitely worth spending money and time, and one certainly won't be disappointed taking it.

Steve was our guide for the day. He was great! He worked to keep us all comfortable on an extremely hot day. He called everyone by name throughout the day which was impressive to me. The swamp and plantation tours were a lot of fun and the lunch was great!

Had a ball if your visiting and haven’t done this….. it’s a must. The food was top of the line too. If anything had to be addressed would be the mic that the Chauffeur used at time I couldn’t hear him but that’s the only negative thing I have to say.

An absolutely fantastic tour. Probably one of the best tours we have ever taken. The attention to detail, punctuality, choice of locations and well appointed van were all perfect. Rene is a gem! His knowledge and positive enthusiasm is contagious. We have been on many airboat rides and we have never seen so many alligators all at once. The plantation homes were also beautifully chosen for their Louisiana historical account. I would highly recommend Isabelle and her your company for this tour or any others that she does!

The tour had so much information. The swamp tour was amazing but scary when the alligators would try and jump on the boat. The plantation tour of Laura plantation was good and gave the slave side and owners. Bring clothes and shoes you don't mind getting wet because the weather is unpredictable. The buffet was decent to say the least.

This was a wonderful tour and a “Must Do” if you are visiting NOLA! It was an entire day full of history and experiencing the bayou. The lunch at the plantation house was delicious. Renee, our tour guy was funny and incredibly knowledgeable about the history and geography of Louisiana. Isabel, the organizer, is very professional and attentive. Thank you so much for an amazing day!

Wonderful Day Exploring outside of the French Quarter

We had a wonderful day on the airboat + 2 plantations! Each part of the tour was so well planned and everything was on time. Gisele was an amazing guide to all of the locations and gave a wealth of knowledge about everywhere we traveled to. The airboat for us was the highlight of the trip - so fun to see the alligators up close! The visits to Laura Plantation and Houmas House were so interesting to see the two types of plantations and the differences between the two. Make this a must-do if you have a whole day available while visiting New Orleans - you won't regret it!

This was great fun. It was slightly rainy and cold so not as many animals out as would have been in warmer weather BUT still an absolutely amazing experience. I highly recommend it! Our Captain was born and raised and so knew all about the swamplands and creatures.. also the gators responded to his voice which was really cool!
