Fantastic experience!

This tour was one of the top highlights of our trip. Liz did a fantastic job giving the historical and background info, and really bringing the history to life. We stopped at 8 or 9 different long-standing restaurants and sampled their specialties. The serving sizes were substantial--way more than the samples you get at Costco and similar places. By the end you are quite full and it is really hard to pick your favorite stop. Also, it is not too much walking. We absolutely loved it. Due to the length of the tour and the amount and quality of the food, it is a really good value.

A Must in NYC!

Our tour guide Alana was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We visited tiny, authentic eateries that we would have definitely missed if we had been exploring on our own, and the food was delicious. Learning about the history of both locations was an added bonus. We’ve done food tours in Miami, Boston, and Chicago, and this one was the best!

Fun tour, mediocre food

Our guide, Liz was amazing! She was very passionate and informative throughout the entire tour! But for $125 pp, the amount of food and quality of food was subpar. It was great to visit a different area of New York, but don’t take this tour for the food.

Hello and thank you for your review. We are glad to read that you enjoyed your guide Liz. We are sorry to read that you did not seem to enjoy the food. We are a bit taken back as while we know taste buds can be subjective, most of our guests, including those who took the tour on the same day raved about the food and mentioned to arrive hungry and that you would not need to eat after the tour. Please note the tour cost also includes your overall tour, (guide, commentary, customer service). We do appreciate all feedback and will continue to work to improve one of the best food tours NYC has to offer. Thank you again.

Didn’t Leave Hungry

We wanted to experience a part of New York that we had never been. The tour was great. Our guide Liz was the best! She had so much energy and enthusiasm about the area and the food. The tour route was planned out perfectly to experience both neighborhoods. The food was fabulous and believe us, don’t eat before you go!

Lots of Standing Around
Christin_S
, Dec 2021
We sampled some great food, but there were times that we were just standing, and standing, and standing. The background information about the tenements could have been a walking tour, instead we stood next to trash cans on a side street for 15 minutes. I would have liked a better balance between food in Chinatown and Little Italy. 3 of our samplings in Little Italy were from 3 stores right next to each other. The shops were too crowded to visit. Best stop by far, Benito’s and the eggplant parmigiana. I had pics to post but the system wouldn’t accept them.

Hi and thank you for your review. Our customers and giving them a great tour are our number one priority. We are sorry that the tour was not what you may have hoped for with the standing and balance of the two areas. We always look to improve and will keep your thoughts in mind when doing so. We are happy to read that you did enjoy Benito One.
