Meet up with your guide at a location near Ground Zero as specified by your host. You’ll spend the rest of your tour discovering the key landmarks, people, and places associated with that fateful day in September 2001.

First, take a look at St. Paul’s Chapel, a religious site that became a meeting point for friends and families searching for news about their loved ones after the attack. Its moving collection of handmade memorials and prayers still populate the interior to this day. Continue to Brookfield Place (formerly the World Financial Center) to get a sense of the financial costs of the attack and ongoing efforts to rebuild.

Next, head to the Eleven Tears Memorial, a tribute to the 11 employees of American Express who perished in the attacks. Just nearby, you’ll take a look at the Winter Garden, a site frequently missed by Ground Zero visitors. Continue from here to the 9/11 Memorial Pools, a sober fountain monument with the names of the victims built into the “footprint” of the former Twin Towers. Add more context to your trip by proceeding to the Survivor Tree and Firefighters Memorial, which offer a more intimate look at how New York City locals were impacted by the attack.

Make the final stop of the day at the 9/11 Museum, where an included, pre-reserved admission ticket lets you skip the long lines. Enjoy a self-guided exploration of this fascinating museum, displaying artifacts salvaged from the wreckage along with moving stories told by the victims of this tragic event. You’ll finish your trip at the museum at 5pm.

Fantastic guide and loved every minute. The history and personal stories were great to connect the story into the events that day.

Jerry was a great guide!

My daughter and i took this walking tour with Jerry on a Saturday morning. It was very informative and he added some interesting stories about the area and specific heroes that were very touching. He came equipped with pictures that gave us an in-depth perspective. The guided tour was outside the museum and included tickets to the museum that we could do on our own. The museum and memorial is very well done. I would highly recommend this tour.

Had a nice tour with Rob. Very informative on the history of the properties and what’s to come. He also added some personal stories which made the experience more real for someone who watched the tv rather than being there. The museum is a must to realize and remember.

Missing the soul of 9-11 museum without this tour

Seeing the physical museum is a disservice to the memories it perpetuates without the personal touch added by tour guide

I thought the guided tour was in the museum. It was an outside tour. Very cold. Not a small group. Hard to hear the guide at times. Some misinformation. I had told the person I purchased tickets from that we had Broadwaytickets that night. I thought the tour was inside the museum with extra time to spend on our own. Wrong,

Despite the frigid cold, blustery weather in NYC, KCristin's 9/11 input was well received by my great nephew and me! Doing this on our own would have been lacking incite, personalism and history. We would also have missed certain locations important to 9/11. This is the second viator tour I have taken. The first was in Lisbon, Portugal. No doubt, I would search for same company elsewhere in my adventures.

This was definitely one of our favorite but yet very sad tours we did during our 5 days in NYC. Our tour guide was amazing. She was a native of NY and had a lot of connections to this tragedy. The tour started at St. Peter's Church and continued around the block where she described what happen that day. I would suggest that everyone take this tour before touring the museum.

The tour itself was very moving - the guide appeared to be very knowledgeable. I say appeared because unless one was standing directly in front of her, most of the time we could not hear what she was saying. She wore no microphone and spoke very fast. Apparently the company she works for does not provide them - a big fault! The museum and memorial were a very sobering and moving experience. Being with a smaller group is a definite advantage..
