Austin was the best!! We...

Austin was the best!! We are experienced in kayaking but it’s still worth getting a tour guide. We enjoyed all the stories about local legends. He was patient with the couple that was inexperienced on the water. Snorkeling was awesome. We saw tons of fish and turtles. The turtles are not scared of you and will come to you to see what’s going on. You do have to carry your kayak to the water and back BUT this is not the companies fault. The city doesn’t want kayaks on the beach due to being an eye sore. The walk is NOT hard. It’s well worth the trip. Ask for Austin!!

Kayaking through bay and lanikai was so much fun. We went back and forth on weather to go with guide or not, ultimately chose guide and so glad we did. I don’t think we would of explored certain areas w/o. Thank you Braden!

So fun! So beautiful! Maybe a little on the difficult side as we had a bit of a head wind as we paddled out to the islands. But so great! Would do it again!!

Braden was an excellent guide for the young crowd and two little old ladies! Touring the island was the highlight for me. Everyone had a great time!

Self guided option the way to go, full freedom to go at your own pace, we decided to kayak to lanikai beach and saw a sea turtle + plenty of fish! Beach was super calm, amazing views, and enough exercise for 1 day! Staff were very helpful

Great company/experience, highly recommend

The staff were incredibly helpful and supplied all the kit we needed and the 15% off everything in store was a welcome bonus. They also offered us any additional kit we wanted as part of the package if we wanted to make full use of our time there. The food options (all from restaurants in the same court) as part of the deal were excellent, we had the pizza which was tasty and more than we could finish! The Kayak experience was great, although to make it to the Mokes (the bigger islands) you need to be very fit and experienced kayaker as it would take around 1.5hrs paddling each way. Our family made it to the flat island which was great but the conditions were a little windy for us to make it any further. We were exhausted by the end of the kayaking, in hindsight, I would have planned more of a day around the experience and taken advantage of the great beaches and other facilities on offer.

Be prepared to work hard. You have to walk your kayak to the beach, drag is across the sand, jump in on a shorebreak. Then when you are done, you have to drag it up a 45 degree bank and mount it on a dolly and roll it back to the place.

Aloha Mary and thank you for joining us. We are sorry it was difficult, It can be tough!! We hope it was worth the effort and that you still had a memorable experience.

Phenomenal

This IS the experience! The shop had great knowledge and instruction (we did the kayak without the guide and we are semi experienced calm lake water kayakers) take water, wear a kong sleeve moisture wicking shirt. Wear closed toe sandals. The rocks on the islands are tough and you def want to see the island. Do not stop at the flat island and then skip the Moke islands. It seems more strenuous and intimidating than it is. Definitely make the trip out! Best advice take the 830 -915 time slots and go. Very few people then. Tine alone on the island. Around 1030 it was packed. The Queens bath was amazing. The lunch at the grocery store was limited but decent. If you have time and enough water. Brave the 3pm sun and hike the Lankai pill box after where you can see the entire area you kayaked.

Not what you might hope it is…

This seemed like a great idea and fun for the family, until… It’s a 30 minute drive from Waikiki so be sure you’re prepared to pay the Uber fee there and back, if you didn’t rent a car. We knew this ahead of time, so it wasn’t that big of a deal. Be prepared to haul your kayak from the shop to the beach. If you’re planning to do this with a family, especially with young children, you may need extra hands. The worse part (seriously, this is bad) is the employees seem to really hate their job. We sat on the beach and listened to two employees complain about and make fun of their customers for a good 30 minutes. They were also using explicit language (in reference to their customers) with no regard for my young daughter sitting right in front of them. It was very disappointing, to say the least. Fun beach adventure it was not. Seriously, save your money.

Awesome experience!

Great experience - staff was very helpful. Getting kayaks out to the beach area was relatively easy and the actual kayaking was fun. Gorgeous views of the Kailua and the islands when you're out there. Winds can be strong and waves will have an impact on how hard and long you'll have to kayak to reach a destination. If possible, I'd recommend the Moku Nui island as opposed to the Flat Island - there's not much to see with the latter. Awesome experience!

Mike was an amazing guide and made sure that no one in our temporary Ohana got left behind. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed a short hike to Queens Bath before lunch. There was time for snorkeling and spotted a turtle before heading back. I highly recommend this adventure.
