Start your small-group tour of Coba and Tulum with pickup from your Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya hotel. Get comfortable in your air-conditioned minivan for the drive to each archaeological site. A buffet lunch and beverages are provided during the day.

Coba is your first stop, with a tour of the preserved and rebuilt ruins. At its peak, Coba had a population of about 50,000 inhabitants and an area of 80 square miles (129 sq km). Walk past two ball courts and see the sacbé, or white roads, that once linked Maya cities. If you'd like, climb the 120 steep steps up Nohoch Mul—the tallest pyramid on the Yucatán Peninsula—and be rewarded with views of the dense jungle from the top.

Then head down to Cho Ha Cenote for a spectacular swim in the emerald waters of this sinkhole. Highlights include limestone stalactites formed over centuries.

From there, drive to Tulum, the only archaeological site built on the Caribbean coast. Once a thriving seaport, it housed Maya nobility and merchants within its walls. Meander the groomed paths with your guide who points out noteworthy structures such as a restored temple whose murals reveal ancient red pigments. Learn about the Spanish conquest of the city during your walk around.

The final stop on your full-day tour is Playa Paraiso (Paradise Beach), one of the most visited beaches of the Riviera Maya. Relax under a palm tree and soak up the last hours of sun or swim in the turquoise sea, with a prime view of the ruins above.

Your tour concludes with transport back to your hotel in Playa del Carmen or the Riviera Maya.

Excellent excursion. Our tour guide Hugo gave a great history lesson. I would recommend wearing a hat or something to block the sun.

What a wonderful trip! Hugo was so knowledgeable and we learned so much. Bring lots of water and gym shoes! You will be walking about 3-4 miles throughout the day in the heat. The cenote was amazing after a hot day!

Martin rocks!!!

Martin was the kindest, most knowledgeable, best guide we could have had. I booked this particular tour because of the great reviews and they were not wrong!! The only snafu was that Viator did not properly explain the fact that due to our hotel being out a ways there was a $15 fee for each person. I was prepared with a tip, but not that. Our poor driver had to patiently wait while I gathered the cash after the trip. As for the tour it was fantastic. You can't go wrong!!

The best experience for the price!

This is the best excursion out of all I think for the price. You get to see 2 sets of ruins and the swim was awesome! They take care of all the tickets so you don’t have to worry about anything, you just show up! Although it was hot (august), a lot of walking and a long day, our tour guide Hugo was so intelligent and took time to tell us stories and even take photos for us!! And lunch was delicious at a local restaurant. And a little time for local shopping. Would DEFINITELY do it again!!

Change of plans, but still nice

It was a nice tour. We couldn't go to Cobá due to a COVID-19 case they had there, so we went to Muyil. It was a great call from the organizers, and the prompt improvisation in order to provide us an experience, was very appreciated. Both the guide and the driver were very nice, honest, sweet people. They even got their way out to leave us in Tulum instead of where they picked us up in Playa del Carmen. If they wouldn't have made that, me and my friends would've lost an important reservation. So that was amazing from them!
